At the Seashore.
We left here last Wednesday night
r Sullivan's Island and remained there
mntil Monday morning, and only left
here then, because we had to get
>ack so that THE TIMES would make its
isual weekly visit on schedule time.
Sullivan's Is'and is a popular resort
htis season, ma.le so by Mr. J. L. Jacobi
f Florence, proprietor and manager of
he Atlantic Beach Hotel The hotel
;ervice is altogether first class, rooms
~crupulously clean and always in order,
md the table cannot be excelled at any
esort we know of. We have been to a
mmber of hotels and nowhere have we
;een as much courteous attention given
o guests. The proprietor and his wife
re tireless in their attentions. Among
he guests from here are Mr. F. C.
'homas, wife and children, Dr. W.
E. Brown, wife and no children, and at
cottage near-by is Maj. A. Levi, wife
md no children either.
The bathing was grand and we took
'o much of it that we came home blis
ered from the sun and salty atmos
here. Thomas, Brown and Levi had
he advantage of us, they had their
wives along to keep them from getting
onely, but we really enjoyed ourself,
ven i'n our loneliness. Several of our
!riends have been twitting us since
:oming home because our nose had a
Large bruise on it, but fortunately we
can prove that the bruise was the result
of an accident while diving in the
water, and not from flirting with some
body's wife or daughter. We don't do
those things, we are married and al
ways admit it, when people from home
are along.
We would like to present our readers
with the pictures of~ some of our Man
ning friends, showing them in their
bathing suits, but if we did we would
have to leave town and stay going. It
was our good fortune to see them take
their first bath, and the opening made
into the ocean by one of them, reminded
us of when the children of Israel were
being pursued by Pharaoh, and the seas
were rolled back to give them passage.
We saw this big opening and we looked
back to see if Pharaoh's host was pur
suing us, but another look proved to us
our mistake. Near this great excava
tion in the A tlantic was a Manning man
who at first glance might have been
taken for a straw standing up straight
and shaking in a wash tub, but after a
billow or two splashed over them, like
the coons, they all looked alike, big' and
little, slim and fat, male and female, all
looked wet and hideous frights.
It is a fine sight to walk along the
beach and watch the playful bathers at
their antics, but the summer girl_ thinks
there is more genuine pleasure in com
ing out in fancy bathing costume and
advertise her shape. We saw one
promenading the beach whose displayed

The lady we speak of was none of the
Manning crowd.
Manager Jacobi is constantly on the r
lookout for something to entertain his
guest, and on last Thursday night he
gave us a concert by the famous colored
tenor, Sidney Woodward, and on last
Sunday evening he had a sacred con- F
cert by the Military Post Band. The 8
crowd on Sunday evening was immense
and every body seemed as if they were
seeking enjoy'ment, and at the Atlan
tic Beach Hotel they found it.
If you want to have a few days of
genuine health restoring pleasure we V
can assure you that your wish can be g
gratified on Sullivans Island and your b
comforts will be looked after at the a
Atlantic Beach Hotel. We asked a
lady who has been summering it at a
Atlantic City New Jersey how this
beach compared with that, and she said F
"very favorably," which means that
South Carolina's resort is equally as
good as the Northern resort and less
expensive. The attractions are finer D
this season than ever before, and if Mr. r
Jacobia receives the encouragement S1
his tireless energy and his chivalrous G
treatment of guests deserves, arrange- T
ments for accommodation will have to
be made early next season in order to
get rooms.

What we sell we advertise, and what we advertise we sell.
We do not make a long list of absurd prices and not be able to At
meet quotations. But what we sell we advertise and at the same
price as they are quoted.
It is our sole aim to sell merchandise that will please a cus
tomer and lead him back again.
Our prices now are
'Lower Than Ever
and if prices are to be considered in the least we deserve a part
of your trade and we will get it sooner or later, as we know you
cannot keep in your old way of doing all the time.
You cannot afford to give all your trade to your old, friendly,
high-priced place.
No prices are as low as ours on some goods.
Remember we are
Victors Over High Prices
And we fully intend to keep up our reputation. gin
Yours for Low Prices,
S. I. TILL, Proprietor
