Representative Woods has introduced a bill in the House to provide for the pur hase of pure virus for vaccination and to provide for the proper use of the same, and Representative Richardson has intro duced one to amen d lhc law as to warehouse harges for tobacco We are not acquinted with lhe conditions requiring the improve ment indicated in Mr. Richardson's bill, but presume the measure is desinged for the public benefit. The title of Dr. Woods' bill would seem to indicate that it is a sen ible measure and along the right lines. An examination of a roil of the teachers employed throughout the county shows that 70 to 90 per cent of them hold irst grade certificates, which goes to show marked improvement in the educational affairs of the county in the past few years. Miss Emma Witherspoon, formerly of this neighborhood, but more re cently of Sumter, died at her home in that city last Monday, Jan. 8, and was interred Wednesday at the An drew Chapel cemetery. Messrs. Jno. P. and R. L. Felder are making preparations for opening up an extensive lumber business on what is known as the Spring Grove tract, situated midway between Rim ini and Felder. Miss Mattie Wells, who has been visiting relatives at St. Paul, is at home again. Miss A. E. Shewmaker of Orange burg county is visiting her mother's family Mr. Robert Kolb will soon be an other added to the neighborhood. His new house is nearing completion and he hopes to be able to move next week. We are glad to have all such energetic farmers in our midst. Several members of Dr. R. S.
