All are cordially invited to attend. A pleasant evening is promised. The Augusta Exposition opens to-morrow and closes Dec. 15th. The railroad fare will be nonunal, about a oent a mile each way. TIhe State Fair this year promises to be one of the best and most successful in its history. It begins next Monda., Nov. 12th end continues through Friday. Senex,who 15 older and larger thtan Cooper, had the night before, on account of personal animosities, made an assault with a brick on Cooper The brick was strong and hard, but whet thrown with such violence against Cooper'i forehead, it was- smashed. as was also th4 skin on Cooper's head. Dr. Brown .sewed up Cooper's wound, which, while it wa: painful, was not eeriouis, and did not pre vent his appearance the next day at th. justice's court. Senex was fined $50 o> thirty days in jail. The farmers held.a meeting last Saturday in the Court House. Capt. D. J. Bradham read the constitution and by-laws of the Farx ers' Alliance. Col. Jas. E. Tindal then mado a good, strong, practical talk in favor of establishing a county alliance, urging the need, es pecialy from a social point of view, of such an organization in this county. Capt. Branham followed with a sensible talk on the practical and pecuniary benehts that the farmers would derive from organ izing such alliances. Maj. L. H. DesChamps urged upton the ' farmers the necessity of such an orgaumza tion, and believed that it would result in a. great saving in money to the farmers. Ie hoped the farmers would organize into an alliance. Mr. C. R. F. Baker moved that the presi dent of the meeting appoint some one in each election precinct to canvass the county for the purpose of organizing r fart:ers alliance. Work on Eutawville Railroad is pro gressing, tiotwithstanding unforeseen de lavs. It is estimated that it will require from three to four weeks longer to complete the bridge across Santee River and restore it to position. It is also expected that the engineer corps will finish locating the line to Sumter tomorrow. The grading of the road has been completed to Panola, leaving only the fifteen miles between that place and Sumter to be graded. This section will be graded by contract, and the engineers will then locate the line to Cheraw. When the road has been built to Cheraw it will connect there with John Robinson's Sea board Air Line system. giving a shorter line from Charleston to New York than by any of the now existing routes.-Kews and (urier.
