Mrs, James Hutchinson of Mcintosh, Ga., is visiting friends and relatives here. Mrs. Sam King and children of j Greenwood are visiting her parents, s Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Perry. Mrs. Forster Smith leaves today; (Thursday) for a visit to her mother j in Winnsboro. Mr^T. E. Jackson, Jr., motored from his home in Jacksonville, Fla., I last week to visit his grandparents,; Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Jackson. He; was accompanied by his wife and baby. Carl, the young son of Mr. andj Mrs. B. P. Ringer fell while playing j on Monday afternoon and broke his collar bone. He was swinging on a j rope when he lost his balance or hisj hold on the rope. He was taken to j Columbia on Tuesday and after the: operation was doing as well as could j be expected. Mrs. D. L. Beacham and children .have returned from their visit in Boydton, Va., accompanied by her! , sister, Mrs. Henry Allgood. ' There will be service at Excelsior j school house the third Sunday after-; noon at 3 o'clock by Rev. J. C. | Smith. The public is cordially invit-j ed to attend. M SILVERSTREET Rev. -T. F. Suber filled his pulpit j Sunday and had a large audience, j Rev. G. F. Clarkson preached at J the M. Chapel and as usual deliver- j td an instructive address. Silverstreet seemed deserted Tues-j day Tuesday night, when nearly ev- j ery man went to Newberry to hear : the returns from the election. A party was given Monday night; when the Luther league met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boozer near Deadfall. A goodbye party to the members who were leaving for college, or as teachers. The grove in front of the house was lighted by magic lanterns. During the evening i a fortune teller appeared and many i eyes brightened at the prediction of i wonderful Cinderella weddings in' tiie near future. Punch was served by fair hands, and it was altogether a very enjoyable occasion. \ Mr. and Mrs. Yarborough are visiting relatives in Saluda. Miss Mary Sanders spent the week-end with Miss Evelyn Stilwell.j ) Miss Ruth Martin has returned? from a two weeks* visit with her! brother in Greenville. While there j she went to Asheville, Henderson-! ville and other points of interest. t Mr. and ilrs Walter Shealy of' Greenville spent the week-end with ! his mother, Mrs. R. Martin. ' | , Mr. Jim -Blair of Columbia spent j Tuesday, with friends here. Mr. Schroder, who for some weeks has been in Columbia spent the week end at home. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schroder are j visiting Mr Albert Schroder's parents j and Mrs. Albert Schroder. Miss Gladys Stilwell has accepted! a position in the graded school at Newberry. D. M. The deceased is survived by his. wife; a son, William A.
