I Miss Sabie was third in the running; 1 broad jump and Miss Xancie Voor- j ; hees, United States, tied Miss Carrie j ; Hatt, England, for first place in the : running high jump at 1:45 meters. The tryouts for the ( t American team of seven were held j e in New York city in Ma v. c . , Assuming that the figures have1 d been correctly transmitted, Miss God-j _ hold's performance in Paris was ex-! o traordinary. Twenty meters, 22 j )V centimeters, is 66 feet, three inches, j e plus. Miss Godbold's own record' using one arm, was 35 feet, 11 inch-! ? es. Even if the figures were jumbled i (i in transmission it seems clear that] 1 e Miss Godbold established a new! world record.
