Marion Davis had charge of the meeting, and made it one of the best. Dr. Cromer made an inspiring talk on the Field fcr ser-, vice, which Rotary and Kiwanis clubs have in Newberry. Oswald Copeland won the atten- j dance prize given by Will Cromer.' "Which he refused to show to any one.! He is not blamed for this as the last I time he won a prize it proved to be a , box of cigars, which he opened in the' meeting, mu h to his sorrow and loss.] The favors, given by John Setzler, i were soap-lemons, and it is felt that. there must nave been method in his madness, and that the individual! members, and possibly the community at large will be much benefited by his excellent choice. All members, who w^re present at the last meeting seemed hungry for a repetition of the delightful entertainment furnished by Mrs. Carlisle of the Beth Eden section, and when Gene suggested that we meet in tb country at the next regular meeting ! a motion to that effect was made, . and carried unanimously. .viae, our genial secretary, as usual did not let the occasion pass without bringing up several matters of interest. which were properly disposed of The next meeting is scheduled for June 29th. d_..a110n services of little mountain church; r * I Little Mountain, June 22?The rr r? i: i t xioiy irmi(-y .ctvaiigeucai i-uiaeriu; church was crowded to overflowing last Sunday, June 18th, when the I dedicatory services were held.. A well planned program had been arranged and was very successfully carried out. Immediately after Sunday school the dedicatory services were *begun. The pastor, Dr. J. J. Long, followed by Dr. A. G. Voigt ! Rev. H. J. Black, Dr. P. E. Monroe j \Rev. J. C. Wess^nger and the officers . of the church came in a procession to the entrance of the church and here the services were begun accord-; ing to the form in the Lutheran corr* mon service book. After a beautiful anthem, "0 come let us" by the choir and scripture and i prayer by Rev. J. C. "VVessipger and. Dr. P. E. Monroe the church was ded-! icated by the pastor of the church,' Dr. J. J. Dr. ) Voigt commended the pastor and congregation on the erection of so beautiful a church and in very stirring words urged the people to dedicate themselves to service Of God even as the church. During the offertory the choir ren-'; dered another beautiful anthem, "J Was Glad/' Thtre was an intermission of one hour and a half for dinner which was served on the grounds. In the afternoon a thanksgiving service was held ' at mis service anotner pretty anthem, "Rejoice the Lord Is King," was rendered by the choir. Then the history of the church since its foundation was given by Mr. W. B. Shcaly. He told of the services cf all of the pastors since its beginning thirty years ago. The sermon at this service was preached by Rev. H. J. Black, president of the synod. With much force and effect Rev. Black impressed the people that it is useless to dedicate a church to God unless the peopic are likewise dedicated. Dr. P. K. He expressed to the pastor the people's wish that he had just begun to live with them. After the services came to an end . all who were present went home with \ the feeling that the highest anticipa lions of a great day for the church fa had been realized. ffi We are grateful to know we have such a noble pap-stor who has been ? with us in the building and the dedi- jp cation of our church. & Mr. and Mrs. W.
