ference of the Methodist Episcopa
churches at both services today. Bish
op. U. V. W. Darlington preached a
the morning hour at the First Meth
odist church. He was heard by a con
gregation that taxed the capacity o:
the church and many who desired t<
hear him could not gain admittance
even the aisles being crowded. Th<
life and ministry of Prophet Elish;
was the theme of Bishop Darlington':
sermon. He likened Elisha to a cir
cuit preacher ard emphasized the fac:
of the one aim of the prophet whicl
was to serve God wherever and what
ever way God directed. He showec
that the unselfish and willing purpose
of Elisha had much to do with the
great success which he accomplishec
as prophet of God.
The first service of the day held ir
this church was the conference lov<
feast which began at 9:30 a. m. anc
continued until the hour for the sermon.
This service was in charge ci
Rev. M. M. Brabham.
