Bish op. U. V. W. Darlington preached a the morning hour at the First Meth odist church. He was heard by a con gregation that taxed the capacity o: the church and many who desired t< hear him could not gain admittance even the aisles being crowded. Th< life and ministry of Prophet Elish; was the theme of Bishop Darlington': sermon. He likened Elisha to a cir cuit preacher ard emphasized the fac: of the one aim of the prophet whicl was to serve God wherever and what ever way God directed. He showec that the unselfish and willing purpose of Elisha had much to do with the great success which he accomplishec as prophet of God. The first service of the day held ir this church was the conference lov< feast which began at 9:30 a. m. anc continued until the hour for the sermon. This service was in charge ci Rev. M. M. Brabham. Isom both of whom have passed away sincc the session of the conferencc a yeai ago. Memories 01 both were laid anc tributes to the life and work of eacl were paid verbally by many who wer( present at the service. Conference came to a close tonight with a ser moh by Dr. A. M. Tray wick. Resolution by B. R. Turnipseed tha the Holy Bible be read in the public school was adopted. Dr. M. L. Carlisle introduced the fr?n.iwincr rpsnlntion which was adopt ed by a rising vote: "Knowing thai v tfte utter possibility of adequately expressing what is in our hearts, wi wish to express to the city and citi zens of Lancaster our deep apprecia tion of them and their hospitality during the session of this conference Therefore, Resolved, That we pra: for them peace and the blassing oJ <?od that maketh right and added n< c/vMvwv therewith. Thev have fed u; with earthly food, may the Lord giv< them the bread of life. They hav< taken us into their homes, may th< Lord receive them into the everlast ing habitations.
