LeRoy and little daughter, Miss Sarah, of Greenwood are j visiting her sisters, Misses Sallie and | Jessie Coppock and their brother, Mr.! E. S. Coppock, the latter having been j brought from the hospital in Colum-! bia Saturday night, to be with his J sisters at their home with Mr. and j Mrs. H. G. Meyer, 1313 College street. Mr. Coppock is doing as well as can be expected after his recent. severe fall, which seriously injured: him. He is still unable to walk and has to keep to his bed. In the hands j of his devoted sisters it is hoped he will improve. P Frank Ernest Ward, who has been in training at Hampton Roads, arrived Thursday night on a visit to j his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ward, having- a furlough of ten days. When he returns to his duties he will prob-, ably be assigned to the U. S. S. New . Hampshire. His brother George, also of thevnavy, is on the U. S. S. St. Louis, now in Turkish waters! Mr. W. R. Reid, after spending good -times in Saluda, N. GL, fishing in the mountain streams and ia other! delightful, ways passing the fleeting ^ hours, arrived in the city last week. It all despends on the weather whether he stays here or goes back. However,: there is no such paper here, but the' point of the joke was that a Swede, asked a bartender if he had any squirrel whiskey. The liquor dispenser said he didn't have any squirrel whiskey but he had some "Old Crow/' The Swede told him he didn't want to fly, just wanted to jump around a little bit. | Mr, Z. W. Dennis of Route 4 was J in the city with his right arm in sling. Asked about it he said a mu kicked him and broke his arm whi he was in the lot.
