Smith entertained with a farewe party for about thirty college friend on Saturday evening at the home o Miss Wilson in Johstone street. The lower floor was en suite fo this event and the rooms and piazz were made very beautiful with quar tities of gay blossoms and the New berry college colors, scarlet and graj This was a delightful complimen to the college folk who are soon t leave Newberry and the evening wa passed in playing games and convei sation. Delicious ice cream and poun cake were served by Mrs. Wilson an Mrs. C. E Toney, after which remen brance cards were given the guests These were very attractively designe and made by Mrs. Wilson in scarle and gray colors. MISS CALDWELL ENTERTAINS CLASSMATES AND FRIEND Miss Marion Caldwell was hostes at a delightful party on Friday ever ing, given for a number of her claSs mates and a few other friends. The guests were shown into th hallway and parlor by Misses Mario and Sarah Caldwell. The rooms wer beautifully decorated with daisies an nasturtiums. Games, cards and dancir" wer very much enjoyed during the ever ing by all present. CLAUDE DOMINICK ENTERTAINS DELIGHTFULLY t A very charming affair of the pas week was the card party given b; Mrs. Claude Dominick to a fe\ friends, on Thursday evening at he apartment, corner of Caldwell am Johnstone streets. The room in which the guests as sembled' was made more attractiv with stately lilies and handsome po plants. Two. tables were placed fo cards, and the evening passed swiftl; and pleasantly-. In answer to Cupid's call, one o Newberry county's most efficien teachers, Miss Leila Culberth of th Chappells school, has decided to em bark upon the sea of matrfmony, an this fact was announced at a lovel party given in her honor on Frida Kt? As the guests entered they wer met by Misses Jeanie Simkins an Nina Keith and were escorted to th library by Mrs. Coleman. It contai ^ a very unique announcement of I t Culberth's engagement to Mr Tho Utley of Sullivans Island. In the dining room the bride's t; was a symphony in pink and \vl 5 the table being covered with a b< tiful spread of Battenberg lace < s pink. The centerpiece was a \i basket of beautiful pink sweetp .. and the pink candles' on the table a soft glow over the scene.
