THREE STORES ROBBED AT SILVERSTREET C . The State Newberry, Jan. 25.?Three stores, one containing the postoffice, were broken opencast night at Silverstreet eisrht miles west of here, and the railroad depot also. The stores brokv en open were those of H. Chapin Lake, J. C. Berry and J. P. Blair, the postoffice is in Mr. Berry's store. The stealages were small, but the r" quantity taken from each store is not known with definiteness. The money box in the postoffice was broken open and the contents were stolen mostly pennies and nickles. Among other things stolen vas a piztol from Mr. Blair's store and one fr>n the depot. When the Southern passenger train No 15 reached Ropp's Siding, this side of Chappells, this morning about 9:15 o'clock, as tranger got aboard. He had four pistols and about $15 ^ in very small change, mostly pennies. Two of the pistols answer the description of the two stolen at Silverstreet. Blease 'went to Greenwood on the 4 o'clock Southern this afternoon, and if the man is the one wanted he will /Jjring him to jail tonight. Greenwood, Jan. 25.?A young white man, giving the name of 0.
