The Rev. G. W. Sandt, D. D., of
Philadelphia, editor of The Lutheran,
the official church paper of the United
Lutheran church in America, was a
visitor in Columbia Friday. Dr.
Sandt, accompanied the Rev. A. G.

North Carolina synod at China Grove
and after spending- Friday night with
him, made a brief visit to Newberry
college Saturday morning. Dr.
l Sandt visited Columbia in November,
| 1912, and delivered one of the adL
dresses at the dedication of the Luth'
eran Publication building on Sumter
f street.

Smyrna School District, No. '44, to
lold an election on the said question
ol levying a special tax of four (4)
mills to be collected on the property
located within the said school district,
which said election shall be held

School District No. 44, on Saturday,

said election the polls shall be opened
at 7 a. m. and closed at 4 p. m.
