OTTO GREGORY INSTRUCTOR i
IN AVIATION SCHOOL
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Gregory have
just received several fine letters
from their son Otto, from the aviation
school at Great Lakes, 111., where
he is a member of Co. C, 15th regiment.
He also sent a large picture
in which he and his pal, Frank Hill,
are shown in a group of about 1,900
others, so estimated by "Dad" Jack.
Otto tells of the hard examination in
which he came out fourth in the class,
and says "I will at least get to shake j
hands with the admiral for being I
fourth man, as he always shakes the
fourth man's hand and tells him he
was working hard." Frank Hill will
be transferred to Santiago, Calif.,
while Gregory will be kept at the
school, where ne nas Deen maae in-1
structor following his successful ex-!
amination. What struck us particularly
in Otto's letter was the following
sentence: "When I found that I
was to stay here as instructor and not
go to sea I thought they had treated
me wrong, but now I see that your
prayers were answered, and I am ,
proud to have a mother praying for
me; and I am going to be good."
