Miss Owinbey of Spartanburg, the "trained nurse who has been attending Mr. Homer Schumpert through his illness of typhoid, returned to her home Wednesday night, Mr. Schumpert, his many friends will be glad to know, having improved and being on the road to recovery. Miss Owin*bey ?ave entire satisfaction, all being well pleased with her and her services. Mr. Fred Paysinger, who manages a fine pressing club and also sells good beefsteak, etc., is meeting his many customers with smiles all over 'his face these days. Fred always was a good fellow to smile, but since early Monday morning he has had "the ^smile that won't come off"?all on account of a little girl in his happy, 'hem?. Goggans, is from Silverstreet. Such a man, also, is the new mayor, Mr. E. S. Blease. Purcell and Lominack (Ned and Rob) have bought two lots adjoining the lot bought by G. W. ("Billie") Coward between the latter's fruit stand and the Dodge garage in the ur.per business part of Main street. Messrs. rurceil and LominacK got their lots from Mr. Pet Baker, while Mr. John Baker sold Mr. Coward his lot. Purcell and Lominack have an option on the balance of the vacant space. The lots are in the growing business portion of the' city, where automobile garages continue to grow and flourish. 4 Wells' idea of a road drag is the Host yet. We saw it in the city on Wednesday and had an invitation to see it at work, but couldn't leave the office. Burton Wells was hauling the rimer which was attarhed to the Wells's strong Moline Universal truck. Burton handling it to perfection. The drag, which is heavier and more secure than other road drags, is so constructed as to leave the road in much better condition than the drags heretofore use i. Hand it to Henry Wells to know how to do things. The legislative committee of sheriffs met in Columbia Tuesday night, Sheriff Cannon G. Blease among ths members present.
