DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY FOR MAYOR AND OTHERS The citizens meeting was held ir the council chambers on Friday even ins in pursuance to the call of executive committee of the citj democracy to consider the method oj ? -C nominating canaiaaies xox majui alderman, commissioner of public works and school trustees and anj other business that might come before it. Geo. B. Cromer presided and E. E Aull acted as secretary. It was decided that nominations b( made by primary. The rules here tofore governing the primary with th? proper changes as to dates and offi ces were adopted. The rules for the primary, the fix ing of the dates, the laying of th< assessments upon the candidates anc the necessary changes in the rules and all matters pertaining to th< election were devolved upon the com mittee with full power to act. The following executive committee "was elected: Town at larger-Harry H. Blease Ward 1.?L. I. Epitng. * Ward 2.?I. H. Hunt. Ward 3?McK Hutchinson, f Ward 4.?E. H. Aull. Ward 5.?A. M. Danielson. The treasurer reported a balance on hand of 13 cents There being no further business the meeting adjourned. E. H. Aull, Secretary. Meeting Executive Committee. The executive committee met or Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock in th( offices of Blease and Blease. E. H. Aull was elected secretary and treasurer. I The date for the first -primary was fixed for November 25, ag|d a seconc if necessary on Tuesday, 4|ecember 2 The third in the event of^ a third Friday, December 5. Pledges are tc filed with the chairman or the Secretary by noon of Friday, Novembei 14, and assessments paid. ) ' It was found that this is the regu lar time for the election of trustees of the graded school for members from Wards 4 and 5 and that the trustees from Wards 1, 2 and 3 should have been elected in 1918, but that no election was held last year for any office. Under the act trustees may be elected by the board in case of death or resignation to hold until the next regular election when the successors shall be chosen, but there seems to be no provision for holding over until the successor is duly eicctcu nnu i{ua<ujcu. xii numu s&cm that trustees will have to be elected for all of the wards, three for the balance of the term, and from wards 4 and 5 for the full term of two years. The act contemplates an election each year for trustees. The trustees from wards 1 and 3 are holding by election of the board until the next regular election to fill vacancies caused by resignations, and would have to be elected even if there had been an election in 1918. The assessments of candidates were fixed as follows: Mavor?S25.00. Commissioner of public works? I Trouble for a s< who tries to be re ?
