Adamson, % Acting Secty. :STUDENT GOVERNMENT ADOPTED AT NEWBERRY At a meeting Tuesday in Holland hall the student body of Newberry college voluntarily adopted a system of student government for the purpose of maintaining among them* selves orderly conduct, fraternal spirit, high standards of living, and high ideals of honor. Zion, Pomaria, Oct. 6.?Jacob and James Bundrick, Grace and Mary Long spent the week-end in Columbia visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Long, little Frances and Robert Leitzsey, are visiting relatives in Prosperity. Zion school opened the 15th of ' > September with a full attendance. Miss Featherstone is teaching again. Mr. E. Oras Ringer is at home, having finished a five months course ==r.at Bowen Business college in Colum.. - bia. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Griffin left a few days ago for Indiana to visit Mr. Griffin's home .and relatives. Mr. Ben Eargle is home, having received his discharge about ten days . ago. He is the last one,of our neighbor boys to get home from over there. YOUNG PEOPLE MEET ^ 1 ' Lutheran Societies Hold Convention _ at Leesville. 9 ___ / Leesville, Oct. 7.?The Federation ^ of Lutheran Young Peoples' societies convention in Wittenburg church in South (Carolina will hold its annual Leesville, October 10-11-12. Representatives from each of the 75 organ izations in the'state are expected to attend. Able speakers have accepted invitations to address the' convention. One of the special features of the convention is the "educational hour" which will be conducted on Saturday afternoon by the Rev. H. A: McCul-at ^ lough of Columbia. The campaign to } raise $300,000 for Newberry and ^ Summerland colleges will be fully presented as follows: "What It Will Mean to the Colleges if the Campaign Succeeds," by President Derrick of " "WUot Tf Will Newberry couege, ft UUW aw . . ...
