Sessue Hayakawa, the Japanese star in "The Gray Horizon," is seen in a production that for artistic photography and dramatic strength reaches the high-water mark qf excellence. Hayakawa's productions are noted for their artistic detail, but it is safe to say that this fine actor has surpassed himself in "The Gray HorizcJn," at the opera house Friday, October 10. Mrs. Abbie Dominick and others heirs at law of G. P. Dominick sold three tracts of land on Monday. The three tracts were bought by two of the sons. E. L. Dominick bought two Df the tracts, one 82 acres for $4,100 75 acres for $2,400. E. H. Cromer. Counting ;he subscription by Summer Brothers :he total contributed by the congregation is about $40,000. This congregation will give $50,000 to the ;wo colleges on this drive. Mr. T. J. Wilson has an old cotton bill for the sale of one bale of cotton to Mr. W. G. Mayes dated September 25, 1862. It was sold by Mr. C. Wilson, the father of Mr. T. J. Wilson. The bale weighed 418 pounds and was sold for 14 cents the pound and brought $58.52. Paper was scarce in those days, just as it is todaj!', because this bill is made on. v.:i ih2 back of an old letter, and /vf r?nnr<:p wsn not a nrinted bill head. The T'in.ty school in No. 6 will open next/Monday, October 13. The teachers are Miss Agnes Monts, principal, and Miss Verda Oxner assistant. The patrons and friends of the school are urged to be present at the opening and give the teachers anc children their encouragement and as surance of cooperation during the term. Superintendent C. M. Wilsor and possibly some others will bp pres ent to say a*word. The exercises wil start promptly at 9 o'clock.
