Dr. Knubel "who delivers the sermon is the president of United Lutheran church in -America. The fire alarm came in at 11:25 >on Wednesday. The department re. -sponded promptly. It was a blaze on the roof of the home of Harry Kleck3ey (colored) in Vincent street. The 'fire caught from the roof and was put out before the arrival of the department and did very little damage. ^Probably set by a spark from a Southern engine. j : Lieutenant Hal Kohn, who is with j < xhe headquarters company of the 3Dtli division and who is still over j seas, has been designated statistical I officer inspection division P. The 81st division in which are South Carolinians is expected arrive in this country in a few * days, that is a good many units of the division. The services at the opera house on Sunday will begin promptly at 11:30 1 o'clock. So well pleased were those who witnessed the play put on at Silverstreet on last Saturday by local talent that requests have come from 'Chappelis and Mt. Bethel-Garmany , to have the play rendered at both places and very likely it will be in s the near future. Sorry we could not attend at Silverstreet last Saturday evening. * j The strike has not touched New', berry.
