The democratic club meetings held in Newberry county last Saturday *eem to have been well attended ar.u j while much interest was evidence;! everything passed off quietly generaly. in many of the clubs no contests I were had, delegates to the county convention and other officers being elected without opposition. In fiv? of the clubs of the town of Newberry. Ward 2. and Ward 3?No. 1, Ward 3? No. 2, Ward 5 and Oakland no contest of any kind developed. The clubs ; in Ward 1 and Ward 4 had some eon| tests but there was no evidence of? any bitterness or feeling. In Ward 1 club, the old officers of the club were unanimously re-elected on motion of Sheriff Blease. Thes^ officers are: Geo. B. Cromer, presii dent, L. I. Epting. vice president ami | John H.
