Purcell of the Purcell company sold oil Wednesday a lot )f 1300 bales of cotton to Robert McC Eiolmes at 35 cents all round for tho lot. This probably is the biggest cot ton sale yet made in Newberry in tii3 imount of money involved. The lot will bring around $225,000.00. The $68,000 in county bonds for the erection of the jail authorized by the legislature have been sold to Marshall and Company at Charleston for $66. 750.00 and the couny does not begin to pay interest until the bonds are ielivered.
