I _ i Tuesday, December 11, 1917. \ i We notice from the Spartanburg j i Journal that it is dangerous for a [ pedestrian to travel the strets of tbat city on account of the speeding of the army automobiles from Camp "Wadsworth. The civil authorities it is stated have no jurisdiction over ; th? army and the drivers know this aid become reckless in their driving. That is another one of the privileges r emoluments of having an army camp. Let Mayor Floyd have a chance at them and he will teach them a thing or two. / But this thing of speeding is not ?onfBned to the soldiers at Camp Wadsworth The mania has taken kold of those in civilian life just tne same. \ Of course Fred Dominick was right. Right when he voted against war, and right after war was declared to support the president and the administration in the prosecution of the war, and - - * -3 - right when he voted ior me aeciaraiiuu of war, or that a state of war exists, with Austria, and would be right to vote for a state of war with those other countries that are fighting with the Germans. IWe are in it now and ?n AmoHrans like Fred Dominick Cil gvuu * 1 |?. V. are with their country and willing to do all they can to bring the war to a peedy and a successful termination. The U-boats seein still to be doing ( business, and only last Thursday; I *ight they got one of our biggest U- j fcoat destroyers. It must be awful to J r I Itove your boat sunk in the icv waters ; 1 ?f the ocean and be left to drift until / some one comes along to pick you up or you go down to any icy and a watery grave.
