Mrs. Hsrmtt Y. La no. relict of iVilliam Lane of Newberry, died at :he hospital in Hendersonville, N. C., ?n Monday night. She had been in ;he hospital a little over a week, sufe ironi a t'a.l in which her hip lad been injured three weeks ago. She fell \vhiie attempting to take a seat, nissing the chair. Mrs. Lane had ?pent the summer in Hendersonville, and was extending her visit when the accident occurred. She would have been 88 years old next January, and ^ as a remarkably preserved woman. At he- advanced age the fall caused her death. The body reached Newberry Wednesday afternoon and was carried to Central Methodist church, where it remained until Thursday morning i;Pf: t ie funeral se-v.ce? were conducted by the Rev. F. E.
