Miss Nannie G. Keller, after a lingering illness, died at her home, Tuesday night, in the Crosbyvilfe community, having just passed her three score and ten years of age. ; Burial services were_ conducted Irom Cool Branch Baptist cnurca < Thursday morning, by t/.e pastor, in! the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing .relatives and sympathizing friends. The deceased, a duaghter of Joseph and Ruth Starks Keller, was a native of Newberry District, now County, and moved with her parents to Fairfield county i 1861, settling on ; Little River near Monticello. She waa j educated in the country schools and at what was then known as Monticeiioj College, presided over by Rev. John Taylor Zealy and a corps of able; teachers. In the latter part of the sixties she (began teaching in Newberry County, and continued to teach, until within a few years of her deatn, in the followin couties: Abbeville j Edgefield, Fairfield and Chester. In 1884 she bought lands at Crosi bysville where she subsequently made I her home. . j She leaves behind her one brother,! and aftlr the death of one of herj brothers she went to Alabama and; brought his family to hex* own horns; caring for and educating two of "the' children, one of which remained with^ fcer1. She was a woman of deep piety, "brilliant mind and vast energy. ... Being of a social disposition she j . made many acquaintances and won friends in almost every section of the State. .' Miss Nannie joined the Enoree Baptist church, Newberry county, in early life, and was baptized by Rev. R. R. (Vfcnn. Since that time she has been a faithful member, a regular attendant, when health permitted, and appreciative of her pastors the last of whom is Rev. E. DjL Wells. Leeds. S.
