A STATEMENT.
Some of the ads from the Master
"were primed in The Herald and News
Friday. Mr. Rikard said that he want
ed them to begin on Tuesday, but we
understood that if the charge was only
for three insertions it made no difference
to him when they were Inserted.
The Observer thinks we took ,
unfair advantage of it by printing
them ahead of the time set by the
master. We desire to say that the
only reason they were printed is that
we were shy of type to go to pre-ss,
having spent a good deal of time on
a brief. We never had any idea that
any one would object. We had no
thought of getting a "scoop" on our
contemparary. in fact we never tnink
of that. We try to print the news as
we get it and never think about what
y~\ r\ r\ rw 4 c crr\ ^ r-> o- t r\ A r\ /W/i
i xo l\S UV. ? ??
make this explanation as we had no
purpose of being in the least unfair
to any one. ??i
Remember that The Herald and
News can be bought for one year, until
the 15th. for only $1.19. Do not delay
renewing or sending in for a new subscription.
We are pleased to state that we are
somewhat crowded with ads this issue.
The reader will find good and
entertaining reading in all these ads.
Read them and see if you do not.
