see that.
President Cody of the State Baptist
association 'has appointed a committee
to memorialize the legislature in ac
| cordance with the action of the recent |
convention on temperance question,
with Col. W. H. Hunt as chairman of
i the committee, the other members being
Dr. C. E. Burts, of Columbia, Dr.
J. F. Vines, of Anderson, Mr. James
I A. Hoyt, of Columbia, and Rev. G. W.
j Gardner, of Greenwood. If all the
! men on the committee are as busy
as Col. Hunt, it is a busy committee,
for he is a busy man with his law
work, his cotton mill duties and other
labors of his hands and brains. But
j did you ever notice that the busier a I
| man is, the more he can do? It is the
! busy man who does things. Col.
Hunt does things, and President ( y
was wise in his choice of men for the
committee, and all concerned showed
good judgment in naming the chairman.
It is lively now in Newberry from

bright, the crowds are fine, and there
is "life and lots of it" in the carnival

spirit to hear the music,
watch the crowds and see the Ights '
and so forth. This describer hasn't ?
