The first annual Newberry county
teadher's institute will convene at
7.30 o'clock, the night of December 4,
and continue December 5 and 6. The J

Death of Mrs. T. D. Jones,
Mrs Thos. D. Jones died at her home
in West End on Sunday morning at
one o'clock of acute indigestion and
was buried at West End cemetery on
^iv>nday mornv?at 11 o'clock, service
by the Rev. A. M. Gardner and
the Rev. Mr. Booth. Mrs. Jones was :
45 years old and leaves a month-old '
baby, besides other children. Before
marriage she was Miss Byron M.
Bishop. Her death was sudden, the
fatal illness lasting only about 20
minutes. She had not retired for the

past midnight, and she was suddenly
sezed with the attack of indigestion,
, which caused heart failure. Besides
| her husband Mrs. Jones leaves five
; sons and three daughters to mourn
the death of a good wife and mother.
While they and otfaer relatives and
friends will miss her and grieve that
she left them, the sympathies of the
public are extended to them in their
sadness.
Thanksgiving For the Poor.
County Supervisor J. H. Chappell
will make the inmates of the countyhome
happy on Thursday. That being
Thanksgiving day he will give those
poor people a dinner, prepared by
