A faorse belonging to Mr. Pink
Glenn, of Whitmire, fell in the street
between the opera house and Dr. W.
G. Mayes* drug store Tuesday afternoon
and was killed his head striking
with hard force as he reared and
plunged. Mr. Glenn had just bought

The Glee club 'has been re-organized ,

interesting to a great many people
to know that right here at their very
doors is a tree growing the same
kind of little round hard black pepper
they buy at the stores. I will
be news to them. They never dreamed
of such a hing.
Probably a serious fire was prevented
Saturday evening by the presence
of mind of Mr. Otto Wiiliams, while
operating the moving picture machine
at the opera house. About 6.30
o clock the film caught fire from the
lamp house of the machine, and Mr.
Williams picked up the burning film,
ran with it down the steps and threw
it out of the window. His thoughtfulness,
while it endangered his life)
was a good acr, although the film,
valued at about $75, was entirely con- .
sumed by the flames.
