Among several conferences held by |
Governor Wilson today was one with i
Senator-elect Broussard, of Louisiana, (
who had been invited by the governor!
to talk over the various matters, parti-;
cularly the qu-^tion of abolishing the j
commerce court. Mr. "Wilson had noI
comment to make on the subject af- i
ter the conference. Mr. Broussard
expressed himself as in favor of maintaining
the commerce court or a court
of equal jurisdiction.
Washington Surprised.
Washington, I). C-, Jan. 16.?Mr.
Eustis declined to make any comnvent
because the letter had not reached
him. He got in touch with George E. J
Hamilton, chairman of the finance !
committee, and arranged to have a
meeting of all the inaugural officials
early tomorrow to consider Governor
"Wilson's proposal. Mr. Hamilton de-j
clared Mr. Wilson's suggestion to be j
"remarkable, coming at this late
date."
