The ora ization of the (ireat (ou
cil of Pocahontas is due largely to the
indefatigable labors of Hoi. Otto
Klettwer. of Newberry. Mlr. Klettner
has been for several years an earnest
and enthusiastic and unseltisi worker
in Ber-ell Tribe and in Cateechee
Council of Newberrv, and it is due
largely to -his unselfish and untiring
labors that Bergell Tribe and Catee
eliee Council have -rown and flour
ished as they have. He has or
:1'anlized a degree team for the coni
ferring of the Pocaliontas degree.
which is probably one of -.he best
teams in the State. and which confers
t-le degree with great impressivenesS.
On Monday night the degree was (,ll
ferred on a numher o(f candidates. and
.the work was puit on so admirably
that it was very greatly enjoyed by
the visitors andi made a lastin im
presshin oni the vamididates.
After the degrees were conferred a
Social sessimn wa.s held anld li-ht re
freshments were served and the visit
ing members were introdued to the
local members.
The Bergell Tribe now has a tmem
)ership -of over three -hundred which
is about one-tenth ot the entire mem
bership i- this State. and Cateechee
J.ouncil has a membership of abot
two lundred which is about one-sixth
of the membership of the Pocahontas
Council in this State.
Mr. Klettner is Great Junior Saga
