Our city was shocked on Satur
day morning when Miss Marie Bobb 's
death was announced. Miss Bobb
had been seriously ill for three weeks
with peritonitis. Though her end
was untimely, it was not unexpected,
as she had suffered intensely from
the first.
During the holidays she went to
Wilmington to visit a very dear
friend, Mrs. Shad, and while there
became so ill that she longed for home~
and came home despite her feelings
All that medical science and loving
friends had to offer was done for her.
but to no avail. Though her early
death is seemingly past finite comn
prehension, there is comfort in the
fact that her useful life here has but
opened into a fuller and more glor
ious sphere above.
Just one year and five days ago
her mother had preceded her to the
bright beyond. In the meantime she
had filled the place thus made va
cant, most acceptably, taking care of
Mvr father, and her sister and broth
ers. Miss Bobb was a young lady of
many sterling qualities. and splendid
busines ability. She had many friends
all over the State. As to h.er love and
esteem at home it was strongly at
tested by the large coneourse,o or
rowing friends who attended thre sad
services and hid The nev: and earthy
mound above her by myxriads of viol
ets and carnations. The services
were conducted by the pastor. Rev.
Mr. Kreps, who spoke beautifully and
feelingly from Jer. 15:9. "Her sun
has gone down while it was yet day.''
She is survived by her father, Mr.
Frank Bobb, and sister, Miss Ger
frude, and brothers. Messrs. Olin
Bobb and S. J1. Kcdhn. We extend our
deep sympathy to all these.
