Mauldin, of Greenvill, I was elected president pro tempore of hesenate. After twelve ballots had been cast, I r. Y. M. The G.overnor's Message. When the lieutenant governor call cd the senate to order, after prayei by the Rev. A. W. Brunson, Mr. A J. Bethea, secretary to the governor was announced. Washington, Jan. 12.-''Many peo ple, are sending me material in regard r to Roosevelt's dark and crooked ways - and I am preparing a speech in which I will try to redeem my promise made yesterday," said Senator Till - man today. He said he did not know how soon he would be able to deliver the speech, but he would make it be r fore the president retires from office.
