PARTY ELECTORS j IN THE FIELD. Democrats, Republicans and Socialists. Tickets for the general election in November are being circulated by the three parties who have placed candidates in (ho field. A fourth ticket is expected from the Independence parly, according to statements made here recently by representatives of the Hearst part v. On the Democratic ticket the nominees for governor and congress are -well known and are sure of election. In some of the congressional districts, | especially in Charleston and Oolum- I bia. tlie congressional s are opposed by Republicans. The party always has been ! greater than any one man. It was so with Hayes, Carfiold, and MoKinloy the party was above the individual, ?ml they always spoke of Republic** policies. Air. Uooscvclt speaks of 4 my policies' as though the party had become his personal property. This has diseiiosled the rank and file of the! party in Ohio. j "Mr. Roosevelt, by the use of the! hi- >tick and the steam roller, has nominated his successor, whom he declares will carry out 'toy policies,' and Judge Taft agrees to do so to 4 he letter, showing conslusively that I the Republican party has lost its identity and has become the personal 1 property of Mr. Roosevelt. I he business interests of Ohio demand to know why those hard times occur under 'my policy' administration. MoKinloy loft a full dinner pail. Cndor Mr. Roosevelt, the bottom has talien out. There are not natural reasons for the existence of these hard times. T| is up (o Mr. j Roosevelt. who claims to own the Re-! publican party, to explain this situ a- j < ion. I'he people of Ohio resent Mr, Roosevelt's attempt to assassinate the character of one of her foremost citizens-?namely, Senator J. It. Forakcr. Ohio is proud ot" Grant, llaves, Car field, Sherman. MoKinloy, Hanna and Fo raker, and the president's brutal treatment is indignantly resented by the Republicans of Ohio, from the lake to the riv?r." A serious disaffection exists in the negro vote in Ohio, and 00 per cent, of that will bo cast for Kr.van. All over the State the negroes are wearing buttons with the inscription. " li'eM,, uber MrnwnsviHo." This' means .".(1,(1(10 vote; against Taft. I here k serious division in the' laboring vote, SO per cent, of which j "will be cast against Mr. Taft and for j Mr. Mryan, :m<l the Republican laboring vote will moan 40,000. ''Then; arc in the State of Ohio f>00,0()() Republicans. Of tliis anniber, it is safe to say that 1">0,00 are Forakcrites. It is not claimed that the entire number will vote against Mr. Taft. It is a conservative estimate, however, that 10 per cent are sullen and angry, and Senator Forak<t himself could not prevail upon them to vole for Mr. Taft. "We have, therefore, a change of Hf?,000 Republican votes.
