Wanted-Boys.
Who wants the boys? The Sunday
schools want them. They can scaree
ly thrive without boys.
The church needs them. It is imaJE
weak when the boys draw a way from:
the sacred service.
The public schools are after the
boys, to fit them for the stern duties
of honest citizenship and cannot ful
fill its mission without boys.
The Nation needs boys. Its very ex
istence is threatened when the boys
arA drawn away for evil purposes. It
must have boys-good boys, noble
boys, true boys, honest boys, brave
boys, strong boys, manly boys, clean
boys and pure.
The saloon wants boys. All boys,
any boys. It cannot exist without
boys. It will die without boys to
feast its ravenous appetite, for it
lives on the souls of boys. It is the
most persistent, relentless seeker
efter boys which exists to day. It
never ceases its deadly chase. It is
the most insidious ar d ruthless foe
known to humanity, and the inter
ests of the boys constitute the object
of its most bitter and malignant at
tacks.
"The boys of today are the men
of tomorrow,'" and the drink cursed
boys of today are the drink wrecked
men of tomorrow.
It must have boys. Boys it is bound
to have.
Boys it has planned to have. Whose
boys? Yours.
The point is right here: If the sa
- oon lives, the boys must die. This is
an awful sacrifice of the home de
fenders, for the express purpose of
perpetuating the blighting, withering
saloon.
If the boys are to live, then the sa
loon must die.
The death of the saloon is the safe
ty of the boys. Of the 16,000,000
boys in the country, 10,500,000 are
ensnared. Shall these continue to be
reowded out, and the other 5,500,000
be drawn into the awful vortex, to
give place to 256,000 murder mills?
Which shall it be, boys or saloons?
Homes or saloons? Sunday schools or
saloons? Public schools or saloons?
Churches or saloons? Nation or sa
loon?
The life of the saloon means the
death of ali else. Boys, the saloons
would murder you. Strike the accurs
ed saloon, and strike it hard.
Law Prohibiting The Sale of Cigaret

for any person or persons, either by

* Any person or persons violatng the
provisions of the preceding Section,
either in person, by agent, or in any
other way, shall be held and deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
indictment and conviction therefor
shall be punished by a fine not ex
eeeding one hundred dollars, nor less
than twenty-five dollars, or by im

than one year. nor less than two

the offense, and the other half to be
paid to the treasurer of the county
in which such conviction shall be had.

- We are laiboring under great diffi
culties as to a place of meeting. The
clerk of court and supervisor kindly
offered the use of the court room in
the old court house but we find that
to be an undesirable place of meeting
on account of the location. The par

eneounter in crossing the square and
elimbing the stone steps.
