Cullender, rector of the Episcopal church at Newberry, would tender his resigna- < tion and accept work in Virginia very ! near Washington. The following < pleasant notice concerning Mr. Callender is taken from t'lie Laurens Advertiser, and will receive the endorsement of the many friends of Mr. Cal- , lender in Newberry. Mr. Callender | has made many friends in this community not only among those who are j members of his congregation but our people generally, and they will all wish him well in his new work: ''Rev. W. E. Callender, rector of the Church of the Epiphany in this 1 city and Episcopal church of Newberry will at an early dale submit ' his resignation as pastor of these two : charges, and on November the first will become pastor of Falls church, in the suburbs of Washington, D. C. Mr. Callender left last Wednesday for Falls church, where he preached last ^ Sunday: just when his resignation will be submitted is not announced. "Mr. Callender and his excellent family have resided in Laurens for the two years past, during which time I hey have made numerous and strong friends, and their removal will be a matter of genuine regret.
