CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
President Z. F. Wright Makes State
ment and Announces Com
mittees.
President Z. F. Wright. of the
chamber of commerce. makes a state
ment urging all the business men to
identi-fy themselves with the chamber
of commerce.
What the chamber of commerce
needs is a live, wide-awake secretary
who will exploit the doings of the
body and keep the committees busy.
The following is the statement of
President Wright:
''Every live town has an organized
body of some kind which looks after
the interests of the town and county.
The chamber of commerce of New
berry was organized for this purpose
and has done good work. There is yet
a great deal to be done and every
good citizen should be interested in
this work. We cannot afford to sit
still and wait for something to turn
up.
"The recent floods have been very
disastrous and entailed considerable
loss on the county as well as indivi
duals. The fall season is upon us,
and now is the time to bestir ourselves
and do something.
"Let every good citizen join the
chamber of commerce and work for
the development of our town and
county.
"Below you will find a list of com
mittees for the guidance of the mem
bers of the chamber of commerce.
"If anything comes to your notice
which you think requires attention,
notify the chairman of the proper
committee or one of the officers. C
