for the occasion.
The Prosperity graded school
closes next week, beginning Wednesday
evening with the exercises
by the graduating class, the address

I his term closes the school's first
year as a State school, and a vcrv
successful one it has been. The prospect
for next year is even more
promising. 1 lie teaching force will
be augmented and oilier helpful
improvements will be made.
Mrs. Harmon and Miss Groseclose
have gone to Little Mountain
to be with Miss Marie Lathan during
the commencement there.
Mr. Charles Man* has resigned
his position as night central. Master
Wise Caltnes has taken his place.
Miss Maude Counts has gone to
Atlanta to visit her sister, Miss
Pearl Rikard.
A very sad death occurred near
here last Friday. About two o'clock
Mrs. Joe F. Dawkins went into the
field to speak with her husband.
Just as she reached the spot where
he was she fell over, dving almost
instantly. Mrs. Dawkins was the
daughter of Mr. P. Brooks Warner.
She was only twenty-four
years of age. She leaves a daughter.
I he Rev. Mr. Kreps announces
that there will be services in Grace
church on Sunday at 1 1 a. 111. All
the members are urged to be present
