Received With Regret.
(iov. Ansel. as chairman of the
board, staled thai the annoiincemeu!
was received with sincere regret. The I
board and the people of the Stale
looked upon .Major Sloan as a tower of
strength and appreciated that he had
done a .ureal work for the Cniversity
of South Carolina and foi the Stale.
ITo went on to declare that the great
work that Major Sloan had done as
professor would live for irenerations
and that the Cniversiiy of South Carolina
was glad to have had such a noble
man as its bead for these many
years.
(Major Sloan was deeply touched
and thanked the hoard for its kind
j expressions. Later on a committee
<' was appointed to prepare resolutions
on the retirement of President Sloan.
This committee will consist of Messrs.
Thomas -M. Raysor, ]?. P. ITamer, Jr.,
and C. E. Spencer.
As Major Sloan's recognition from
the Carnegie endowment is to begin
whenever he retires from the presidency,
he has asked to be relieved as
Boon after commencement as possible.

SIMPLE WA.SH CURES ECZEMA.
Itching. Burning Skin Disease Routed
Without Use of Injurious
Drugs.
' lea! inventors often have .been
ionised for .surrendering the secrets
Im-ir discoveries. Practically the
sam,. thing happened in ihe medical
world in the case of Dr. Decatur D.
Dennis, the eminent skin specialist of
< "hicago.
Mr. Dennis, in his own oilieo praotice.
discovered tliat pure vegetable
"il id winlergreon, properly mixed
with other simple remedies was praolieallv
a sure specific for Kezcma,
psoriasis, barber's ilea, salt rheum,
and other itching skin diseases. Rut
'iio oil o| vvintergreon alone was
lound inel Iective. It required other
I mild ingredients such as glycerine and
| thymol compounded with the wintergreen.
to produce the real eczema
cure.
This compounded D. D. D. Prescription
positively takes away the itch
at once?the instant it is applied to
Ihi' skin. Ibis vegetable liquid does
away with deleterious drugs so long
used in an attempt to doctor the
blood, whereas modern science has determined
that ozooma is first and all
the time a skin disease.
It you want to know more about
the merits of 1). D. 1). Prescription,
all at our store. We vouch for this
remedy, \\ , 0. Mavos, Xevvbcrrv, S,

When 1 feel a headache coming on,
savs a writer in the April Designer.
1 look around for the cause. Usually
1 loosen my hair. It is not generally
known that hair done up tightly and
pinned close to the head will cause
headache. Try letting ihe hair fall
loose, or braid or pin it loosely in a
a different style. Sometimes it is
my collar which is too ti-_rht. and
when 1 take it I'f my V.'adache disappears.
Again it is caused l?v ti<_iht
or uncomfortable shoos, or by highhe.?lcd
shoes, which may feel coinfor'.able
but which will cause the trouble.
