(o trmliiur. except that he run*! to cows instead of to horses. Not' long a to he had a cow that looked like a lirsl-rate sort of an animal. and it was except for I he fact that il ilillii *! live any milk. With thai exception the cow was all right. The owner desired lo sell the cow. One dav a possible bnver said that he would come over and look at it. For the sake of putting the cow in a more favorable light the owner went' out and bought a young calf which he turned into the stall with il. Tie was getting along nicely with I he possible buyer when a meddlesome neighbor across the way dropped in. "John." says he. "that calf don't belomv to this cow, does it?" The owner was furiorp at the thought of having his game spoiled. "Of cou ve if belongs jo her"' he burst forth, hotly. "T bronchi :: in and gave i( to her myself not an hour ago!" -Cleveland Plain Dealer. A Possible Substitution. A sultan bade his G rand Vizier prepare a list of all the fools in the kingdom and to bring it. to him as s ?on as ii was finished. Well in due course the vizier brought his list- of fools to the place and, lo! at the head of the list, appeared the name of the sultan. Liking audacity and dash, the sultan smiled and said: "Why, 0 vizier, is my name at the head of your Isif of fools?" "Sun of the universe," the vizier answered promptly, ".lid you not but last week commission two entire strangers?I'Vanks they represented themselves?(to purchaso six motor cars for you and did these two strati- ' gers not depart, with 100,01)0 sequins front the royal treasury?"' '' Yes,'' said I lie sultan. "What of it?" "TIfcy will never return," said the vizier, "and. therefore, on my list"? "But suppose they do return?" the ruler asked. "Then, sire," answered the Grand Vizier, "I will erase your name and ] place fheirs in its place*."?Washington Star. Especially to those wliu liave never seen anything of tli'o kind, tluerc is a very interesting entertainment in progress in the MeCinigllrin building, Boyce street, near-college, in the form of fancy class blowing. Tire Mitchell Class Blowers are giving the show. It is a practical exhibition of the manner in whic.li glass is converted into various pret'ty objects, and the facility and ease with which the skilled operators produce numerous Com plica texl and interesting objects is surprising. The glass blowers are giving to visitors pretty souvenirs made under their observation. $50.00 REWARD.
