It s scarcely possible 1-hat there will now he much fight necessary, but what firhl liiere is, will have lo be done with tiic senators. The house of representatives last winter passed a bill, by a uood majority, repealing the law, hut. as we understand it, the ( /bill was continued in I he senate until the next session. ^ Since Judirc Bra w ley lias decided the contract labor laiw unconstitutional. il is believed that il will he much easier lo convince those who favor the present lien law, that il should be repealed. As a matter of fact, we I j' took llie position before the derision ' of Judge Brawley. that the repeal of i this hvw would proba.bly do more, than the enactment of anv labor con-i tract laws in helping to solve the la | bor ipiesiion in this stale. There seems now m> reason why the lien law j should be continued on our statute books, and we hope (hat Mr. liieh-j ards will direct his efforts and his j alignments towards the senators and j there will be no difficulty ill repeal- ! in it the lien law, if we can got the sen- j j ate right. ll should be repealed, and we have little doubt that there will be ! ' any diOicultv at the approaching se<i- j j sion of the loirislatnre in securing its i repeal. _ DESERVED PROMOTION.
