Palme, June 13, 14, 15, and the pro

has already been prepared, and sent
out. Mr. A. B. Williams. of the Rich
mond News Leader, will deliver the
annual address.
The following circular letter is be
ing received by the editors of the
state newspapers:

Mr. R. T. Westeott, 45 years old
who conducts a meat market at 150(
Taylor street, and resides in Waverl3
.suburb, was shot, through the lefl
temple at 5 o'clock this morning a.
he was passing around the corner wi
11a school house, two blocks from hiF
home on his way to his store. Hi,,
16-year-old son stumbled over the
corpse as he lassed along half ar
hour lated. Neighbors heard one shot
fired.
It was Mr. Westeott's custom tc

his store and his residence with his
revolver in his hand. The weapoi
was found by his sitie unfired. It is
not known how mneh monev he car

his diamond rini had been taken from
his finger.

having gathered on the scene by that

About fifty holdups and robberies
and several mysterious murders oe
curring within a year in the city and
suburbs, with the police and county
authorities unable to stop them have
intensified the excitement.
