Abbeville, April 20.-The H1on..J.
.I. Bradley died at his home at 4
o'clock this morning, after a pro
tracted illness. He, as his father be
fore him, was a conspicuous citizen
of the county. He has long been a
leading menMber and elder in the As
I sociato Reformed Presbyterian
church, was a life trustee of Clemson
College, represented this county in the
Legislature, and was a public spirit
i ed and uesful citizen. He will be
- greatly* missed. He served the first
I year of the civil war on the Confed
erate side, in the infantry service,
and was with. the 2d cavalry dur
ing the remainder of the war. He
leaves a widow and seven children,
all of whom have reached the years
