r lei "L BINTA=S LMBNOUSE Former Sheriff of Dorchester Again Placed in Office by an Executive Proclamation. Columbia, Jan. 24.-Sheriff Lime house, of Dorchester, has been rein stated in office by proclamation of Governor Ansel. It will be remembered that Lime house was removed from office by the finding of a true bill by the Dorches ter grand jury on an indictment charging him with permitting a mob to take from him and lynch a negro prisoner. le wils recently tried in Orangeburg and acquitted. Under the law he is entitled to be reinstated in his office. Since lis remnval tile coroner (if Dorebester has beenl sorving as sher iff. Coroner Kizer wrote Governor IIeywN.1rd that he di-i no't wish to Berve, and oilecrnmendation of the Dorchester <lelegration. 3%r. Finucan, of Suilminerville, was appointed sher iff, but be. too, declined to serve, and the coroner was continued in office. Now Sheriff Limehouse again takes charge. In the proclamation of Governor Ansel it is said that ''1. *%. Lime house, sheriff of Dorthester County, in tihe state aforesaid, having been suspended from his office as sheriff of Dorchester County under the pro visions of Section 142 of the Crimin al Code of South Carolina, Volume 2, and the saidl M. M. Linehouse having been tried for the offence of rnis feasanee in oflice as provided in the aid Section 142 iii the county of Orangebmrg, where said cause was transferred as provided by law, and lie havin,g beci tried before a jury in said county and :cgritted of said offence, as is shown by copy of the indictment and verdict certified to me by the clerk of the Court of Oraigeburg Conty, 1imnder the seal of uaild Colit, now, therefore, the said M. 1. ,i )ehIouse, by vitIule of' said acquittal, is hereby reinstated in the said office of sheriff as afore iiaid.'
