No Extended Trip to Be Taken This Year-Meeting of Committee in Columbia. A meeting of the executive commit tee of the State Press association was held in the State Library, in Colum bia on Thursday evening, to consider the time for the next meeting of the association, and also to discuss the programme and other matters per taining to the annual meeting. There were present at -this meeting E. H. Aull, president; Col. William Banks, vice president; C. C. Langston, see retary; August Kohn, treasurer. and Mr. C. M. Galloway. Messrs. J. W. Doir and J. P.. Gibson, members of the legislature, also met with the ex ecutive committee. It was decided that the programme would be left op en for a subsequent meeting of the committee, inasmuch as there was not a full attendance of the committee. In view of the fact that it is not probable that the association will un 1ertake an .extensive trip during the 1 summer, it was suggested that a short trip be taken in connection with the anual meeting, so that those members who do not feel that they have the time to spare from their offices, might be able to unite a little outing with. the annual meeting, and in view of this suggestion, the president and see retary were requested to arrange for the annual meeting at some place out side the state. The idea suggested was that the meeting might be held at some place like Ocean View or Old Point Comfort, which could be reach ed with as little expense and in the length of time as almost any point within the state, and in connection with the annual meeting, those mem bers who do not usually take the trip could have the benefit of spending a. few <days: at the seashore and of see-; ing something of the country outside; of South Carolina. In addition to this, they would have an opportunity, in case Ocean View or any point around Norfolk was selected, to take an advance view of the site proposed Jamestown exposition.. This matter~ will be taken up at once and due no-: tiee given of the conclusion reached, so that all the members of the asso ciation may make arrangements ae-. cordingly. .
