TO SPEAK IN TORONTO.
Dr. Scherer On the Program for the
International Sunday School
T1
Convention.
r.
it is very gratifying to the many
riends and ar of Rev. Dr.
SScherer. President of Newberry
e ge, zhat he has been ch:osen one
i- speakers for the International
Snday School convention to be held
in Toronto. Canada. June 23-27. of
this year.
Dr. Scherer's eminent qualifications
as a platform speaker have been
recognized in many of our Southern
States and we are glad to know that
his fame as a speaker before large
assemblies is soon to be appreciated
by the country at large. for his audi
ence xvil be delegates from every
state and territory in the United
States, from all the provinces in the
. Dominion of Canada, as well as from
England and Mexico. We have not
been advised of Dr. Scherer's subject
but we fel assured it will be handled
t in a masterly way. We note that
many of the speakers of this country,
representing all f the sections, will
discuss topics of prime importance to
-e welfare of the Sunday schools,
in their relationship t;o the religious
e and civic life of the republic.
It is believed that this great con
Vention will attract several thousand
earne- workers. albeit the exact
nssible number of delegates is
something k)ver 2.000. It is highly
probable that our state will be repre
sented by its fu!! quota of delegates,
"6. It will be a great body of earnest
d '-.orkers and students and we will
watch its proceedings with keen
e interest.
