As a practical recognition 4f the fac: that the United Stares immigra tion commissioners have decided tha1 she would be regarded as an Ameri can citizen. she said that Ambassadoi Choate provided a gentleman escort for her when she left Truro. To the interviewer Mrs. Maybric proteste-d her inncence as tirmlv a: she had done at the beginning and said: "I am praying for the time when my innocence will be proved to the world." She said she experienced nothing but kindness from the prison ofticials and spoke with deep gratitude of the late Lord Chief Justice Rus sell's efforts in her behalf. The last time she saw Baron Russell he took her hands in farewell and said: "Be brave, be strong. I believe you to be innocent and shall do all I can for vou. Mrs. Maybrick declared that she was most anxious to get to the United Sta:es. saying: -I shall feel happier there." Mrs. Maybrick requested her inter viewer to quote her as sending the following message to her friends: -To you all I give my heartfelt thanks for your noble fight in behalf of an innocent and defenseless wo man.. I earnestly pray that the day is not far distant when the proof of the wrong that has been dcne me will be <demonstrated." Mrs. Maybrick was unable to say anything as to her plans after the law suit which she has brought in the United States has been settled. 'I want." she said, "a change of scene, to forget and forgive and to spend my time among kind hearted friends." Asked whether she would change her name. Mrs. Maybrick replied: "I do nor know. I am afraid I shall have little peace while I hold that of Maybrick, but why should it be so? Let me die out of memory. I have suffered enough. God knows.' If man will stay by crude oil he will nexer have lung trouble, and if he has lung trouble he will last longer on a crude oil diet than on anvthinO el-e. They went to the doc tors and were told that coal tar and sulphur inhaled were good for the lungs and they found also that among the thousands of drillers in the Kan sas oil fields who make their head quarters here there has not been a case of consumption reported. More than that, there has not been a case of catarrh. Anybody can see the drillers dip their tongues in the can trom one to twenty times in an af ternoon and lick the grease from their d-ipping hands. Occasionally they will take a swallow out of a can, but whatever they do and whatever quan tity of oil they consume they are not troubled with diseases of the throat and lungs. And the other people are catching on. 'The oil habit is beginning tc take hold. Some of 'the women have taken to it. and if the number of its advocates grow it will be a fad. GEN. BUTLER ON PARKER.
