A Small Fire.
The tire department was called
out at about ;v;,o o'clock on Wed-,
nesdav morning to extinguish a
tiro in the cellar of J. W. Kibler & i
Co.'s warehouse. Messrs. Kibler
?.V Co. were ripening bananas by
means of an oil stove and in some
wa.t the stove tut nod over and
started the tire. The bananas wore
considerably smoked and it is very
likely that the smoke and the water
completely destroyed all those attested.

decided to nominate town officers
by primary. The citizens' will arrange
to carry out the wishes of the
people.
A Good Showing-.
The statement of the Newberry
Savings Bank, showing the condition
of the institution at the close
of business December 31, 1903,
shows a very healthy condition of
affairs. The deposits amount to
more than $206,000 while the profits
arregate more than $21,000.
The bank is under the management
of gentlemen of excellent business
judgment and ability.
