imet at the home of his son-in-law,
Mr. Janes A. \Wise, in honor of his
niinety-lir-t hirtliday. Four score
and eleven years! A good. ril - old
age! Vew reach such an age, yet
Mr. Garrett gets aro-mud with agil
ity. In speaking of his lit*e he said:

As their custom is the long table
inl the yard was ini evit4ence, and
about 12 o'clock the ladies were
very busy making ready for us to
give attention to the inner man. In
a short time the table was filled to
the heaping l). A short prayer
was made and the blessing aFked,
then the order given, "help your
self." All went at it with earnestnessl
They all ate in about one hour and
a half and were filled, and they took
i) many baskets full.
After dinner the older folks sat in
groups and chatted of the old times
while the young folks in the parlor
sang and listenedl to songs and the
younger folks in the front yard en
joyed their games and sports.

had passed away in pleasantuess,
but as sonie one of the crowd re
muarked , " We shall iieveri all enjoy

It makes oine sad.
November 7 has passed inito his
tory though not recormded by earth's
historian. The Great Historian

pleasanit words and kind deeds.
