We long to hear thy gentle footstep approaching and hear the ring of the happy dol lars within our office. Dear one, we feel unusually sad and lonely without you, dear. Now, little pie crust, will you, will you come? Do we hear you answer in a voice so sweet and beguiling, "I'm scorning," or it it only the winds that around our office roar? If you have not paid for your Times and Demo crat this year, consider the above letter written to you. GOOD ADVICE TO FARMERS. Read These Problems Over and Act on Them Now. ? It is-poor policy to force your crop on an unappreciative market. If you don't hold your cotton for better prices the middleman that buys it will. That is what he buys it for. Food unappreciative markets on short rations until they get hungry enough to offer better prices. Extend your selling period through the year; your warehouse will help you. If you "owe bills" that must he paid, sell just as little cotton as yo?i can. Possibly you will not have to sell any at all, if you will see your !ocal banker. ! Borrow on your cotton just as little money as you can get along book. with. Leave this money on deposit with you rlocal bank and use a check Economize in every way possible until you get out of debt and then stay out. If farmers are ever to attain their commercial independence they must raise home supplies and quit buying on credit. Your Money's Worth or Your Money Buck. Don't forget the date, tonight, at the Academy o:7 Music. FIVE NEGROES DROWNED; Rowboat Capsizes in Stream and the Occupants Pcrrish. At Chattanooga a rowboat con taining five negroes capsized in the Tennessee river late Monday and all the occupants were drowned. Three of the victims were men an.1 two women- The party had rowed across to Moccasin bend, and while returning one of the women became frightened and tin attempting to jump from the boat the light craft was overturned. But one of the number could swim. The other four clung to him and all sank. None of the bodies has been recovered. Excursion Rates via Southern Railway.
