Concerning Contracts.
"What shall we do about labor
next year? That question is asked j
of us by a level balanced, level head
ed farmer, says the Barnwell People.
The following is the People's ans-]
wer:
We answer that' 5n our opinion
the less labor an employer can get
along with it next year the better it
will be for him and for the general
improvement. For the present let |
there be clear understandings be
tween employer and employe.
Senator Bates has prepared and
will introduce on the first of the
next session of the Legislature a bill
that he thinks will meet and coun
tervail all the objections raised by
Judge Brawley in declaring the
South Carolina labor law unconsti
' tutional.
While we do not profess to be a
law expert his proposed Bill seems
to be in strict harmony wth con
stitutional and congressional provi
sions and to solve the problem.
