A SHg For School .
Some boys, when they come into
school,
(And some girls, too)
I grieve to be obliged to say
That this is what they do:
They wiggle
And jiggle
They hang their heads
And giggle;
They twitter
And titter;
They bounce and flounce
And flitter.
Whatever thoughts their minds

They've no idea of keeping still.
Some boys, when they take up
their books,
(And some girls, too)
I weep to be obliged to say
That this is what they do:
They batter them.
They tatter them;
They crumple, rumple.
Scatter them;
They scrawl them.
And maul them.
They snatch and pull
And haul them.
It makes me very sad to state
A school book's is a wretched
fate.
' Some boys, when tliey stand up
in class,
(And some girls, too)
Imagination will not pass
To see the things they do!
They shuffle
And scuffle;
They sneeze and wheeze
And snuftle:
They splutter

' They fumble
And stumble;

Thanksgiving *
The following is by B O. Wil- 1
liams, Assistant State Agent Boys'
Club Work.
Since tbis is the November issue
of The Carolina Club Boy, ,
and since Thanksgiving Day i
comes in this month, it is fitting
that we say a few words in this ,
issue about this great day. What ;
is Thanksgiving Day? It is a day '
set aside for the giving of thanks {
as an expression of our love for
the many blessings which we
have received /
If we turn our eyes backward '
only four years, we see the Unit- '
ed States and the rest of the '
world in a great war. We should j
be thankful for the eleventh of ]
November, 1918, the day known <
as Armistice Day. You boys ]
well remember how you felt j
when you learned that the Ar- <
mistice had been signed. <
We should be lhankful for life, '
health and happiness. For the '
comforisand conveniences which '
are ours to enjoy, we should be
thankful. As club bo s we ought
to. be thankful tor the open life
of the farm, for sunshine and rain
that makeR our crops grow, end i
fur food and raiment, our mouth i
to speak with, our hands to feel
\ ith and to do things with, and
Hie other agencies which make 1
life rich and happy, we should be
d ubly thankful. In fact, there 1
o i j so many things for which we
s'ir uld be thankful, that we can
h?r turn our m|nds and our
In rts to Him who made us and ,
to 1 lim who hath power to lake J
u% and say:
' Father, we thank Thee for i

ill times."
And, alter we have done that,
ve will, indeed, be happier club
>oys, and can help others to be
tappy.
Do not forget Thanksgiving
Day, and do not forget the unortunate
and needy, who might
leed help from your hands and
who have not the things to be
hankful for that you might have.
